On Day 2 we drove through Beverly Hills and Belair to see some mega mansions. Most houses are behind ridiculously high hedges, but it was still impressive how clean LA can be. We thought about getting a Map to the Stars, which are sold at every corner, but it’s not that exciting to look at Rihanna’s hedge…
Before exploring Santa Monica and Venice Beach, we looked around for breakfast and found a vibrant deli called Joan’s on Third.
We walked down the Santa Monica Pier, but not much to see other than some fishermen before 10 AM…
In around 45 minutes you can walk from Santa Monica to Venice Beach, the vibrant neighbour, where you can buy art, watch artists and get a medical marihuana for just $40.
After walking around we relaxed at our AirBNB apartment for a little while, enjoying the beautiful vistas.
In the evening we drove down to Hollywood Blvd and enjoyed watching actors dressed like movie characters and performers of all sorts.
We got dinner at Loteria Mexican Kitchen, just a littlebit off the tourist traps. Great nachos and tacos paired with a fabulous margarita sent us to bed early.
