Highway 1 Cruising

Driving through the mountains with a constant gorgeous view is just great. When we left San Siemeon we refused to pay $4.79/gallon to fill up our nearly empty gas tank. Needing to save gas when the car in front of you is a nervous braker is nerve wrecking. I got a 97% eco driving rating by the on board computer anyway… We bought 1 gallon for $5.79/gallon in the mountains, which was more than enough to get to Carmel safe and filled our tank for $3.45 there…

We first had Lunch in Carmel, a nice little town which screams “relax, take it easy” the second you enter. After Lunch we drove to Monterey, as we opted for the nicer hotel instead of the nicer town. Still nice, but not as great. Our Hotel, the Intercontinental The Clement, was right on historic Cannery Row, where they used to can sardines and all this stuff.
