Bubba Gump Shrimp

Right next to the Intercontinental The Clement Monterey was an outlet of the Bubba Gump Shrimp chain. They serve – you may have guessed it – shrimp. And some fish. And you can step into Forrest’s shoes.

For us Europeans shrimp is mostly grilled or fried in garlic oil. They had that too, but I guess the most popular item on the menu were breaded deep fried shrimp specialities. We tried some Popcorn Shrimp Рbasically small shrimps breaded and deep fried Рand it also could have been chicken or anything else.

The Cajun Shrimp – shrimps in garlic oil – were alright. As a side we had mashed potatoes with Bourbon gravy, which was just great.

Margaritas came in huge 22 oz shakers and were ok, but a littlebit on the sweet side.

They had all kind of articifically colored drinks – alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

We came out to about $50 for 2 appetizers, 1 side and 2 margaritas. It was more than enough food and fat for us and just about enough alcohol… At other tables we saw people eating appetizer, main and dessert plus a milk shake just for themselves…
